Our school is committed to providing quality holistic education, nurturing students in the aspects of moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic, and spiritual development. We strive to cultivate a balanced growth of students' mind and body. Through offering diverse learning experiences, our school aims to foster students' autonomy in learning and exploration of the world, instilling an international perspective and inspiring the potential of each student.
School-based Curriculum Development
Our school has designed a number of school-based courses based on the purpose of running the school, educational trends and subject characteristics, such as: Teaching Chinese in Mandarin (Primary 1 to Primary 4 Class A), Primary 1 to Primary 3 SPACE TOWN program, life education, design thinking courses (DBL), theme STEAM inquiry courses, cross-subject learning, cross-curricular reading, etc., through systematic school-based courses and the provision of diversified all-round learning activities, help students construct knowledge and develop common abilities, and cultivate their good moral character and correct values.
Emphasis on Learning through Doing
In various subjects, we prioritize hands-on learning activities and provide diverse activities such as interdisciplinary learning weeks, STEAM DAY, experimental activities, school-based Design Thinking curriculum, and thematic STEAM inquiry-based curriculum. These activities inspire students to think critically from multiple perspectives, develop insights into things, and seek solutions, enabling them to become learners with open minds and problem-solving abilities.
Through life education, service learning, uniformed groups, leadership training, and other programs, we cultivate students who have broad perspectives, appreciate the people and things around them, and hold hopeful aspirations for the future. Our aim is to nurture individuals with a growth mindset
Commitment to Fostering Student Autonomy in Learning
Our school has been actively promoting e-learning for many years, enabling students to engage in electronic interactive learning. Various platforms such as Google Classroom, Google Form, Nearpod, Kahoot, Classkick, Padlet, and others are used across different subjects to broaden the range of learning materials, cater to individual learning differences, and enhance motivation and interaction in learning. We have implemented a reading incentive program and diverse reading activities, actively encouraging students to learn through reading and cultivating their habit of voluntary reading and critical thinking
Cultivate students to become learners who can think from multiple perspectives, have insight, open-mindedness and problem-solving skills
Our school incorporates STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) elements into teaching, aiming to enhance students' abilities in integrating and applying interdisciplinary knowledge and skills. The school-based thematic STEAM inquiry-based curriculum combines elements from mathematics, general knowledge, computer science, and science, and also integrates key learning points from various subjects. The Design Thinking curriculum incorporates cross-disciplinary elements such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, national security focus areas, and intangible cultural heritage. This approach encourages students to care about society and develop creativity, collaboration, problem-solving skills, and positive values. To enhance students' interest in STEM education, our school offers diverse activities including STEAM Day, drone classes, MICROBIT programming classes, STEAM classes, robotics programming classes, and flight simulation training classes.
Our school is committed to developing a 'Future Campus' that provides students with diverse opportunities for learning through technology. In order to equip students for the future, apart from experiencing VR (Virtual Reality) during break time, subjects such as Chinese, English, General Knowledge, Visual Arts, and Library Science incorporate the use of VR tools in their curriculum. This allows for the design of unique classrooms, enabling students to enhance their learning effectiveness through different learning experiences. Programming classes are provided for students from P.1 to P.6, and students from Grade 4 to Grade 6 participate in the Jockey Club 'CoolThink@JC Program' to prepare them for the future.
Transition Program for P.1 Admission
At the beginning of the school year, our school organizes the 'Exploring P.1 Campus' event and the 'Caring Big Brother, Big Sister Program' to familiarize P.1 students with the school facilities and individuals, thereby fostering a sense of belonging. In order to help P.1 students adapt to primary school curriculum, adjustments are made to dictation, assessments, and homework during the first semester. Additionally, diverse activities are organized to assist P.1 students in quickly adapting to primary school life. These activities include the 'Smooth Transition to P.1' program, the 'P.1 New Student Adaptation Day,' and the P.1 gamified learning day (aimed at improving students' focus and concentration)
Career Planning
Our school provides a school-based career planning curriculum that focuses on four aspects: 'Self-awareness and Development,' 'Exploration of Further Studies/Careers,' 'Planning and Management for Further Studies,' and 'Home-School Collaboration.' Career planning education is integrated into various learning areas, and complemented by a range of diverse activities. These activities include understanding one's personality traits, the 'SIMLIFE Simulated Life' program, visits to secondary schools, simulated interview training and workshops, talks on further studies, and transition programs to secondary schools. Starting from an early age, we aim to help students understand themselves, set goals, and prepare for further studies and personal development in the future.
Gifted Education and Learning Support
Our school aims to inspire and discover the potential of every student through diverse learning experiences. We provide various school team training and competitions to allow students to showcase their strengths. In terms of learning support, our school has always adopted small class teaching to promote students' learning interests, enhance their concentration, and provide more personalized attention to their learning growth. Additionally, we offer advanced classes, enrichment classes, Mandarin support classes, English phonics classes, and other support programs to cater to students' different needs
