Humanities Week Diverse Outcome Presentations: Training Expression and Critical Thinking
After three days of learning, students from all levels presented their findings in the auditorium. The presentations took various forms, including:
• Presentations (PowerPoint) introducing the highlights of the visit and the knowledge gained;
• Displaying student-made report boards and worksheets;
• Reconstructing the visit scenarios through dialogues in pairs or small groups, and role-playing, sharing their observations and feelings.
One student, while presenting on their visit to the Hung Hom Fire Station, shared their concern about the earlier fire at Hung Fuk Court and called on everyone to pay attention to fire safety and disaster drills, reflecting their ability to connect learning with current events in their lives and demonstrating a basic sense of public safety and civic responsibility.
Another student, after visiting the Stonecutters Island Military Camp, expressed a deeper understanding of the country's efforts in military and political security, realizing that national security is closely related to citizens' daily lives, and understanding that even as primary school students, they can start by respecting rules and caring about society to support the country's peaceful development.
Through this Humanities Learning Week, students not only broadened their understanding of the community, Hong Kong history and defense, but also learned to collaborate in research, organize information and express their ideas on stage, embodying the humanities learning spirit of "starting from life and caring about family, community, country and world".
